Schools in Sweden are stepping back from digital-first classrooms and returning to traditional learning — reading from physical books and writing by hand with pencil and paper.

After years of heavy screen use, education authorities found that basic skills like reading comprehension, handwriting, and concentration suffered when tablets and laptops were overused, especially in younger grades.

So now, the shift:
• More printed textbooks
• More handwriting
• Less screen time in early education

This isn’t a ban on technology. Digital tools are still used where they add real value — but the priority is once again on strong foundations first.

Sometimes progress isn’t about adding more tech.
It’s about knowing when to go back to basics.
