Boots on Roots

After starting the wildlife tours at lower altitude and cabins some weeks ago, in the last days of April we started the season of hikes and trips to the higher huts situated in the Southern Făgăraș mountains. This time, we had the pleasure to guide and host a family from Switzerland, all four being nature enthusiasts.

Spring is coming slowly slowly and it brings life again in the forest. We were lucky to see not only tracks of wildlife, but also animals such as bears, deer, salamanders, newts, squirrels... It all seemed like a big council of creatures who gathered in the woods 🦎🦌🐻

Visiting the vultures aviary was one of the highlights of this trip and it felt magical to see these huge birds back in Romania, after a 70-year absence. Thanks to the reintroduction project made by now we have Griffon Vultures again. They are back home, where they used to fly freely until the last century. Back to the Roots.
