Eid prayer in Northern Gaza🇵🇸 10/04/2024

Lahaula wala quata Ila bi llah

Eid prayer in Northern Gaza🇵🇸

The Sunnah is for the one who is reciting to recite at a measured pace (tarteel) and not to rush, so that he may ponder and think about what he is reciting and so that the letters and words are pronounced in full.

Allah says,

وَرَتِّلِ ٱلْقُرْءَانَ تَرْتِيلًا

And recite the Qur’aan (aloud) in a slow (pleasant tone and) style”

[al-Muzzammil 73:4]

كِتَـٰبٌ أَنزَلْنَـٰهُ إِلَيْكَ مُبَـٰرَكٌۭ لِّيَدَّبَّرُوٓا۟ ءَايَـٰتِهِۦ وَلِيَتَذَكَّرَ أُو۟لُوا۟ ٱلْأَلْبَـٰبِ

This is) a Book (the Qur’aan) which We have sent down to you, full of blessings, that they may ponder over its Verses, and that men of understanding may remember”

[Saad 38:29]

The one who reads the Quran quickly does not understand it properly, he also does not benefit from the sublime and subtle meanings that are understood by the one who reads the Qur’an with reflection, at a measured pace.

Thus, the Prophet ﷺ said,

"They will drink the Qur’an like they drink milk."

Meaning, they will recite the Quran quickly without pondering and reflecting over its meanings and laws. The words will flow quickly on their mouths just as milk quickly flows into the mouth.

Also, a person should recite slowly and not be hasty so that the recitation will be correct and clear. Reading so fast that some letters or verses are not pronounced properly is not permissible, and if a person omits or changes some of the letters, this is a kind of recitation that is not permissible. 09/04/2024
