Deep in the Amazonian shadows ,✨🤤
In the wild, the Amazon riverbed isn't made of neon gravel—it’s a mix of fine silts, fallen branches, and decaying organic matter.
Substrate: Use a base of fine, inert tan sand. In a true biotope, the floor is often covered in "leaf litter." Adding Catappa (Indian Almond) leaves, Guava leaves, or Alder cones creates a natural carpet that bottom-dwellers like Corydoras love to forage through.
The Root System: Instead of placing driftwood like a centerpiece, try to mimic a submerged root system. Position long, spindly pieces of Spider Wood or Manzanita so they descend from the top corners of the tank downward. This creates the illusion of a riverbank overhanging the water.
