For this issue, Cameron discusses Avatar: Fire and Ash, the sea change happening in Hollywood, and the role of AI in the industry, and reveals what emerging filmmakers should and shouldn’t do when using this technology in the future.
“Losing someone you love, like Neytiri and Jake Sully at the end of Avatar 2, changes your life forever. Grief can be paralyzing, and that’s what happens with Neytiri at the beginning of Fire and Ash. My goal was to represent the human experience authentically: behind these big blue aliens lies a profound story about family and loss. It’s a film made by humans, for humans,” he tells Roberto Croci.
