This project completely rebuilt the ramparts, embellished the watchtowers, and added tranquil gardens within the courtyards. Hiking area called Parque Valongo is just 30 min drive away from the city center of Porto. One of the trails is called Trilho do Rio Ferreira which is accessible to everyone due to it's short distance and little steepness. It's close to the Simão and the Ferreira River and it takes an average of 1 hours 30 minutes to complete. Hiking areas of Valongo are very popular for bird watching, hiking and mountain biking, so you're likely to meet other people as you explore. 🤸
