𝐑𝐄𝐕𝐈𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐖&𝐓’25
🌅 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐀 𝐋𝐀𝐕𝐀𝐃𝐀, Geoteluric Orisons (2025)

Geoteluric Orisons was a contemporary reflection on the significance of being Azorean, the relationship between memory, identity, and territory, and the ability to project new narratives of abundance, participation, and belonging. With an 𝑒𝑥ℎ𝑖𝑏𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛, 𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑠, 𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛𝑠, and a 𝑑𝑖𝑛𝑛𝑒𝑟-𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑙𝑙𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛, 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐀 𝐋𝐀𝐕𝐀𝐃𝐀’s program built a system of connections between contemporary art, local cultural expressions, gastronomy, and landscape.

This project was selected for the Programming Open Call, aimed at independent collectives and cultural spaces based in São Miguel. This initiative supports and gives visibility to new artistic proposals, diversifying the Biennial’s program and strengthening the network of local cultural agents.

𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐀 𝐋𝐀𝐕𝐀𝐃𝐀 (.are.caralavada) is a young collective of intervention, creation and artistic production, interdisciplinary, experimental and contumacious from the city of Ponta Delgada. Its practices explore the limits of collective socio-political realities, starting from common places and identity.

Geoteluric Orisons foi uma reflexão contemporânea sobre a Açorianidade, a relação entre memória, identidade e território, e a capacidade de projetar novas narrativas de abundância, participação e pertença. Integrando uma 𝑒𝑥𝑝𝑜𝑠𝑖𝑐̧𝑎̃𝑜, 𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑓𝑜𝑟𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑐𝑒𝑠, 𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑙𝑎𝑐̧𝑜̃𝑒𝑠 e um 𝑗𝑎𝑛𝑡𝑎𝑟-𝑖𝑛𝑠𝑡𝑎𝑙𝑎𝑐̧𝑎̃𝑜, o programa do 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐀 𝐋𝐀𝐕𝐀𝐃𝐀 construiu um sistema de ligações entre arte contemporânea, expressões culturais locais, gastronomia e paisagem.

📡 𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐲 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡, An Infrasonorous Archipelago (2025)

𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐲 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 investigates the vibrational kinships between the antipodean archipelagos of Tasmania and the Azores. In collaboration with IVAR – Instituto de Investigação em Vulcanologia e Avaliação de Riscos — and Professor Nicolau Wallenstein, the artist collected and translated infrasonic data (low-frequency seismic waves) into a suite of poetic and tactile works. Using a series of propositions explored through experimental drawing, video, sculpture and performance, the artist reflected on the value of the incidental, of reciprocity, and of what is felt (more than known).

𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐲 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 is an artist based in lutruwita/Tasmania whose practice explores geologic volatility, material transformation, and deep time. Working through site-responsive installations, drawing, and collaborative fieldwork, her projects often engage with local communities, scientists, and natural forces to investigate the poetics of instability and environmental entanglement.

𝐋𝐮𝐜𝐲 𝐁𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 investiga as relações vibracionais dos arquipélagos antípodas da Tasmânia e dos Açores. Em colaboração com o IVAR – Instituto de Investigação em Vulcanologia e Avaliação de Riscos — e o professor Nicolau Wallenstein, a artista recolhe e traduz dados infrasónicos (ondas sísmicas de baixa frequência) numa série de obras poéticas e táteis. Através de uma série de proposições exploradas em desenho experimental, vídeo, escultura e performance, a artista refletiu sobre o valor do incidental, da reciprocidade e do que se sente (mais do que do que se sabe).
