From Executive Producer Macklemore, The Encampments offers an urgent and intimate portrait of the student movement that emerged at Columbia University in protest against universities’ ties to the war on Gaza — a movement that quickly spread across hundreds of campuses across the United States.
Featuring detained activist Mahmoud Khalil alongside professors, whistleblowers, and organisers, the film captures the deeper stakes of a historic moment that continues to resonate globally.
This screening is a warm-up event for the international conference “Palestine is a Global Issue: Situating the Genocide and Beyond”.
