The SILVER COAST VILLA is a richly textured romantic haven. It’s a place of deep history, homegrown hospitality and unabashed sumptuousness.
Areias do Seixo Villas were designed by the architect . The decoration architecture bears the signature of Rosario Gabriel. Working closely with the owners, she accompanied the construction process almost from its inception. She is responsible for much of the interior design details. Isabel Schedel - whose touches are evident throughout - began working with us a few months before the hotel opened, as decorator.
The development of the Villas design has always considered the surrounding landscape harmony. Materials such as regional stone, pebble, glass, and wood prevail, with natural finishing touches and polished concrete.
These materials and decoration have come together to produce a unique spellbinding space. This hotel is an ecological place that applies the principles of sustainable tourism: energy efficiency, renewable energies, and the use of natural resources.

Emerging as a quietly exceptional apartment where historical Lisbon and contemporary architecture have been brought into precise dialogue. Following four years of meticulous renovation by , this 200 sqm residence was transformed into a layered composition of restraint, materiality and craftsmanship. Rather than overwrite the past, the project carefully revealed it, uncovering forgotten architectural details such as the building’s original lift while introducing refined interventions in lioz stone that bring texture and permanence to the interiors.
The apartment has been reimagined with a deep attention to proportion and daily ritual. Three en suite bedrooms introduce privacy and calm, accompanied by four bathrooms designed almost as intimate sanctuaries. Five discreetly integrated wardrobes reinforce visual clarity without compromising functionality, while concealed architectural gestures add subtle drama throughout the home. A hidden door integrated into custom wall panelling reveals the laundry area, introducing an almost cinematic quality to everyday movement. The kitchen, entirely redesigned, balances precision and warmth, replacing dysfunction with understated elegance and fluid practicality.
Francisco Tojal’s architectural language, informed by his time at John Pawson’s London studio and work on projects including the Design Museum and The Oaks Hotel, is evident throughout. Spaces feel generous without excess, contemporary without detachment. Natural materials, carefully framed light and quiet detailing shape an apartment that privileges atmosphere over decoration. 48th Republic is ultimately a residence for those who value architecture not as spectacle, but as a more thoughtful way of living.
