In 2013, he took part in the foundation of LibMov, an association aimed at helping reunite the Italian liberals linked to the ALDE party, and became a member of its Executive Committee. He is an Italian journalist, writer, essayist, and the former Secretary General of the Italian Radical Party.

The President of Iceland, Guðni Th. Jóhannesson, gave an opening speech at an international conference of secular humanists in Reykjavik, "What are the Ethical Questions of the 21st Century?". He referred to several anecdotes from Icelandic history to stress the importance of secularity in any country. We can only hope one day in Poland similar speeches will be given by high-level politicians. The president was introduced by the chairman of the Icelandic Ethical Humanist Association (Sidmennt).
