„Powieść Drwiące” żądze ukazała się w 1993 roku (...). Synkretyczne i wielowątkowe dzieło opisuje pobyt słoweńskiego pisarza w Nowym Orleanie i Nowym Jorku. Ponieważ Jančar również otrzymał stypendium Fulbrighta dla pisarzy w USA w 1985 roku, powieść bywa odczytywana w kluczu autobiograficznym, mimo że autor nie zawarł z czytelnikiem paktu autobiograficznego. Artykuł podejmuje na tym przykładzie problematykę autobiografii jako gatunku i sposobu czytania, oraz współczesnych gier z konwencją, aby odpowiedzieć na pytanie, co skłania odbiorców do autobiograficznego odczytania powieści.

The final paper from our 19th issue is Marta Cmiel-Bażant's (Instytut Slawistyki Zachodniej i Południowej UW) study "An Autobiographical Reading of Drago Jančar’s Novel «Mocking Desire»":
The novel "Mocking Desire" was published in 1993 (...). This hybrid and multifaceted literary work describes the Slovenian writer’s stay in New Orleans and in New York. Because Jančar visited the United States on a Fulbright Fellowship in 1985, his novel is read as an autobiography, although the author has not established an autobiographical pact with the reader. The aim of this study is to consider the autobiographical writing as a literary genre, the figure of reading, and the play with convention, in order to answer the question what provokes the autobiographical reading of "Mocking Desire".

W artykule przeanalizowano specyficzny typ użycia języka we współczesnej literaturze węgierskiej na Słowacji. W utworach literackich kilku autorów węgierskich na Słowacji pojawia się język oparty na zjawiskach kontaktu i dialektyce regionalnej języka węgierskiego i słowackiego. Zjawisko to jest interpretowane w artykule przy pomocą narzędzi metodologicznych pluricentryzmu, który służy za podstawę interpretacji językowej, oraz transkulturalizmu, który stanowi punkt wyjścia analizy literackiej. Interpretacja zjawisk kontaktu językowego, poziomów hybrydyzacji i dialektu opiera się na utworach Kálmána Gábora, Lajosa Grendela, Mili Haugovej, Anikó N. Tóth, Anikó Polgár, Norberta Györgya, Zoltána Hizsnyaiego, Árpáda Tőzséra, Pála Száza.

This article examines a specific type of language use in contemporary Hungarian literature in Slovakia. The literary works of several Hungarian authors in Slovakia include a language based on the contact phenomena and regional dialectics of the Hungarian and Slovak languages. The study interprets this phenomenon using the methodological tools of pluricentrism, which serves as a theoretical framework for the linguistic interpretation, and transculturalism, which is a point of departure for literary analysis. The interpretation of language contact phenomena, the levels of hybridisation and dialect focuses on the works of Gábor Kálmán, Lajos Grendel, Mila Haugová, Anikó N. Tóth, Anikó Polgár, Norbert György, Zoltán Hizsnyai, Árpád Tőzsér, Pál Száz.
