The fame of New Year's resolutions precedes them by several lengths. Apparently, that's what they say, almost all of us have resolutions in our history that even (with hand on heart 💖) didn't intend to implement at all 😅
We are a bit ashamed of them: that we did not succeed, that we did not persevere, that we did not have enough courage, strength, diligence and ... which we will not write there. Well, how was it - it was supposed to be nice, pleasant - and here's what?
➡The good news is that basically setting goals and making resolutions - that we will do something - we can at any time for a year New Year's Eve has no special, supporting magic here (although it would be nice if the stars and the calendar would help)
🕘 One unique feature that the New Year period has is the traditional time of closing one period and starting the second year. A period of 12 months, with a fairly precisely defined start and end time in the calendar, is a good time to make such a "periodic assessment"
✅That's why it's a good time to sum up. And summaries follow resolutions.
✅ Because in order to know where you want to go and what goals you want to set (i.e. resolutions), it's worth seeing where you are on the map of events beforehand. That is, look at what happened in the last 12 months of life
✅So - take a look at:
• What did you spend your energy, attention and time on
• How it relates to your desires, needs, dreams
• What of what you did in 2022 brought joy and satisfaction
• What of what you did in 2022 turned out to be a waste of energy
📌Answer yourself the questions:
• What did you want a year ago? Is it still relevant - do you still want it?
• Did you accomplish what you planned?
• Has what you achieved brought you joy, satisfaction, fulfillment
• Does what you haven't achieved still matter to you?
• What would you do differently?
• What would you let go of this year?
• What makes room for when you let go?
Once you know what you spent your energy on, what went well, what didn't go, it's easier to make effective resolutions. And goals. Not only for the new year 😊
The goal, which - out of respect for our limited time and shattered nerves, should be well thought out, we will plan its implementation, the path to where we want to be and based on our real experience 💝
And based on your personal experience (including the summary is very helpful 🙂) you then define the goal. Good summaries 🙂
Goals setting is the subject of eCOMVET course on the Time management for veterinary doctors.

We cordially invite you on the behalf of the Polish Partner of the project KIKO Educational Solutions and Comvet to the conference for veterinary doctors "Personal competences crucial in the professional development of a veterinary doctor. How to avoid professional burnout"
📆 WHEN: 10/12/2022
⏰Hour 10:00-14:00 (registration start 09:30, lunch at 14:00-15:00)
🚩 WHERE: Hotel Four Points by Sheraton Warsaw
👩🏻⚕️👨🏻⚕️ The conference is free of charge for veterinarians. The number of places is limited.
➡The personal competences of veterinarians are becoming as important for the profession as strictly medical competences. Personal skills have an impact not only on cooperation with the client, cooperation in the medical team, but also affect, among others: the organization of working time, the ability to combine professional and private life, emotional management skills, conflict resolution, building self and co-workers motivation.
✅ During the conference among veterinarians, practitioners, academic lecturers, representatives of the medical and veterinary government, we will talk about how, apart from medical skills, personal competences are becoming more and more important in the practice of a professional.
➡Is it possible to achieve balance in the personal and professional development of a veterinarian to prevent professional burnout in advance. And whether it can be developing and strengthening, both professionally and privately.
➡Why is it so important? Veterinary doctors, as one of the medical professions, are at risk of professional burnout more often than representatives of other professions. It is said that prevention is better than cure. In the case of burnout that veterinarians are at risk of, this is especially true.
🚩 Preventing and dealing with professional burnout consists of personal competences that can be called pillars of self-care of a professional medic. In order to effectively prevent burnout and improve your competences, it is worth improving your knowledge and skills in the areas of: interpersonal communication, building an assertive attitude and communication, time management, stress management and teamwork.
🚩 Professional burnout can and must be prevented, and if a professional is on this path, it can be turned back. The key in this process is to build the above-mentioned personal competence.
✅ That's why it's worth knowing what personal competences for a veterinarian are, what role they have in preventing professional burnout, whether and how they can be improved and what good raising qualifications in this area brings us
