This might NOT be a common idiom to hear..

➡ "To Sever Ties”

Have you come across it before?

🔹It means "To cease associating, working or communicating with someone" or simply "to end a relationship"

🔹It can be a great idiom to use when you you need to end up working with a client or a supplier.

🔹To help you understand, below are some examples of using this idiom.

1) We need to sever ties with this new supplier.

2) Sarah severed ties with her family when she was 17.

Let’s try to use it this week when you can.

Comment and let me know how it goes!
