Physics At LUMS

We are delighted to announce that Dr. Muhammad Sabieh Anwar, Professor of Physics and former Dean of the Syed Babar Ali School of Science and Engineering at LUMS, has been awarded the Tamgha-i-Imtiaz.

Dr. Anwar was instrumental in establishing the School of Science and Engineering and its Physics programme, including the widely replicated PhysLab instructional laboratories. His entrepreneurial spirit also led to the co-founding of Qosain Scientific and the launch of Astrolab, an astronomy laboratory for the developing world. A recipient of the TWAS Medal in Physics (2008) and the National Innovation Prize (2015), Dr. Anwar's contributions continue to shape scientific advancement and education particularly through the Khwarizmi Science Society and its flagship Lahore Science Mela.
