Digital SingleLens Reflex
DSLR stands for digital single lens reflex. These digital devices get their name from using a mirrored prism behind the lens that directs sunlight to the viewfinder. As the user looks through the viewfinder, they are looking through the mirrored prism. When the shutter is released, the prism moves and allows the light to travel to the sensor and blacks out the viewfinder. This technology allows you to see exactly what the lens is seeing and allows for more professional-looking photos.
