Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers & Exporters Association (PHMA) and Benazir Bhutto Shaheed Human Resource Research & Development Board (BBSHRRDB) held a productive meeting to discuss a strategic partnership for 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲-𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐤𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭.

The discussion focused on strengthening workforce capacity, enhancing youth employability, promoting women empowerment, and aligning technical training with the evolving needs of Pakistan’s 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞-𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐩𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐥 & 𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲.

𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐮𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐫𝐬 & 𝐄𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐏𝐇𝐌𝐀), in collaboration with the 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐈𝐋𝐎), organized a 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐛𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐂𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐲 for participants of the 𝐁𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐏𝐚𝐤𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧 𝐎𝐧𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐠 & 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐒𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐫 𝐒𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 at PHMA House, Karachi.
The initiative witnessed participation from 𝟒𝟎+ 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝟑𝟓+ 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐞𝐬 across Pakistan, reflecting strong industry commitment towards improving working conditions and enhancing competitiveness in the textile and apparel sector. 𝐏𝐇𝐌𝐀 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐋𝐎 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐬𝐨 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝐣𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐯𝐚𝐥𝐮𝐞-𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐬.

The ceremony also featured an interactive session highlighting upcoming opportunities under Better Work Pakistan, particularly for SMEs.

Pakistan Hosiery Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PHMA), recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Resource Edge, a leading business consulting company working in Pakistan and internationally with a strong track record in the area of SME development across textile, apparel and other diverse sectors, to support the PHMA member companies across the country in their initiatives for business growth, economic sustainability and export readiness.
The MOU was signed by Mr. Faisal Arshad Shaikh, Chairman PHMA and Mr. Afzal Shahabuddin, Managing Director Resource Edge.
Speaking on the occasion, Mr. Javed Bilwani, Chief Coordinator PHMA and Chairman Pakistan Apparel Forum, highlighted the potential of the PHMA member organizations in building the country’s exports, He said that PHMA is committed to support its members realize their potential by helping them through capability development initiatives.
