The 31st meeting of the Program Steering Committee (PSC) of the Sindh Basic Education Program convened at PMIU yesterday (21.11.2023) meticulously reviewed progress and strategized the way forward. Dr. Shereen Mustafa, Secretary, School Education and Literacy Department, chaired the meeting, joined by various program stakeholders including P&DD, Finance Department, RSU, USAID, Halcrow, and the PPP Node.
Secretary, Dr. Mustafa commended the SBEP team for their dedication, successfully completing 102 out of 106 schools. The PPP Node also outlined the plan to transfer completed school buildings to the accomplished Education Management organization.
SBEP, with its goal to enhance access and the quality of education for Sindh's children, has achieved a significant milestone with the completion of 102 school buildings and the operation of 81 schools across 11 districts. This stands as a true testament to the success of the Sindh Basic Education Program in achieving its set objectives.
Since the initiation of the program, starting with the first completed building in Khairpur, SBEP has delivered quality education to thousands of children in remote areas of Sindh. Notably, a substantial number of girls have been included in the educational outreach, contributing to their participation in economic development.
The SBEP team, beyond completing all 106 schools, is dedicated to providing necessary facilities including Solarization, IT equipment, and vigilance devices for the better management of these schools.
