Telly, a hardware startup led by Pluto TV co-founder Ilya Pozin, announced Monday that it’s giving away 500,000 of its new smart TVs for free. (Yes, we said free.) There’s a catch, though. Users must watch 24/7 ads while simultaneously streaming TV shows and movies.

Telly developed a dual-screen smart TV, which has a 55-inch 4K HDR screen, a built-in five-driver soundbar and a 9-inch second screen mounted underneath. This second screen is where ads appear alongside widgets, such as the weather, music playback and sports scores, among other informational widgets like stocks. The bottom panel is lit up at all times, even when content is playing.

However, since the extra screen is a lot smaller than the main screen, and the ads only take up a quarter of it, there are users who can likely train their eyes to ignore the ads altogether. For others, it may be too distracting. But hey, it’s a free TV!

Plus, the other tradeoff is agreeing to give Telly certain data. After all, the giveaway is only possible because the advertising funds the device itself.

“Telly is a revolutionary step forward for both consumers and advertisers,” Pozin, founder and CEO of Telly, said in a statement. “For too long, consumers have not been an equal part of the advertising value exchange. Companies are making billions of dollars from ads served on televisions, yet consumers have historically had to pay for both the TV and the content they watch. All of that changes today. When I co-founded Pluto TV, we created an entirely new model that offered amazing TV content to viewers for free. Now, with Telly, we are providing the actual television for free as well.”

Users can reserve their free smart TV at www.freetelly.com. Telly will ship the device this summer. Currently, Telly is only accepting reservations in the U.S.

Here are some tips that can help you better navigate your LinkedIn profile

Over time, LinkedIn has become a popular platform for job seekers and providers.
For many job applications, a LinkedIn profile is compulsory as it shows the candidate's complete professional history.
If you have just joined the bandwagon and made a LinkedIn profile or are planning to make one, here are some features that can help you get a better experience on the job-seeking platform;
1. Private mode while viewing profiles
Usually, if you view someone's profile, LinkedIn notifies that person about it. However, if you want to keep the other person from knowing about you, LinkedIn got you covered. Go to the Settings & Privacy menu and select the Visibility option from the list. Now choose Profile viewing options and select Private Mode.
2. Create a showcase page
As a business, if you want to target and direct a specific audience to particular businesses or products, then setting up a showcase page will be very helpful. Audiences can follow the showcase page instead of the main company's page. To set up one, go to your company's page and click Admin Tools. Now choose Showcase Page from the menu.
3. Add media files to the profile
If you want to showcase your skill/talent/profile through any videos, documents, photos, links, and presentations, then LinkedIn allows you to do so. To add any media file, click on the Edit profile option. Click the edit button in any section and find the Media option to add your file in different formats.
4. Customised notifications
Constant daily notifications can often get cluttered and hence become useless. Here is what you can do to ensure that you only receive specific notifications and use them. LinkedIn allows users to either mute/unmute, unfollow or turn off notifications that are not important. To choose any of these options, go to View Settings under the Notifications tab and choose accordingly.

Google today rolled out several new features for enterprise users of its Chrome browser, including data loss prevention (DLP), protections against malware and phishing, and the ability to enable zero-trust access to the search engine.

In all, Google highlighted six new features for Chrome – three of them specific to the browser's existing DLP capabilities.

A new “context-aware” feature allows enterprise administrators to customize DLP rules based on the security posture of the device being used. For example, admins can allow users to download sensitive documents if they're accessing them from a corporate device that’s up to date on security fixes or is confirmed to have endpoint protection software installed.

Chrome’s new CRXcavator and Spin.AI Risk Assessment are tools used to assess browser extensions and minimize the risks associated with them, according to Google. “We are making extension scores via these two platforms available directly in Chrome Browser Cloud Management, so security teams can have an at-a-glance view of risk scores of the extensions being used in their browser environment,” Google said in its announcement.

By implementing advanced DLP and gaining more visibility into extension security and critical security events, organizations can identify potential threats and vulnerabilities before they are exploited, reduce the risk of data loss, and take a more proactive approach to cybersecurity.

Google also added two new security event notifications extensions available for install on Chrome.

Extension installs: Alerts IT and security teams when an extension is installed, so they can track new extension use in their environment.

Crash events: Alerts IT and security teams when a browser crashes on a device, which can help them kick off investigations.
