The 15-minutes magic

The mornings are crazy, with van horns honking and kids walking to school, some holding their parents' hands. Some are crying on their first day, while others have big dreams of becoming a doctor or a pilot.
But when they come home, parents, remember to stop. Get down on their level, hug them, cheer them on, and give them a big kiss. Take just 15 minutes to talk with them one-on-one about their day.
These 15 minutes are like magic. They'll forget the hard parts of their day and feel a real connection with you. Over time, you'll become their best friend. They'll always feel comfortable coming to you. Be a shoulder for them to cry on and an ear to listen. Don't judge them, and don't feel like you have to give advice right away. Just listen. This will make it easy for them to trust you and talk to you about anything.
