ISLAMABAD - A mesmerizing showcase of artistic brilliance, 'Uks-e-Aman,' unfolded at the collaborative endeavor of PeaceFlix, Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), and the Women Journalist Association of Pakistan. On Thursday, the event unveiled a one-day painting exhibition that aimed to foster peace-building within society. In an extraordinary fusion of talents, distinguished female journalists, who had fearlessly covered wars and conflicts, shared their captivating stories with accomplished art students from prestigious institutions like Fatima Jinnah University, Quaid-e-Azam University, and IMCG Korang Town. The canvas became their stage, where 17 gifted art students intricately painted 16 magnificent works of art, accompanied by a stunning 3-D project. These art pieces poignantly shed light on the imperative need for peace and offered profound insights into its various facets. Uks-e-Aman, an initiative orchestrated by peace-builder Asma Bashir as part of the PeaceFlix program by Global Neighborhood for Media Innovation (GNMI), serves as a catalyst for promoting peace, inclusivity, and social cohesion within local communities. With a focus on empowering women in peace-building roles, this program seeks to stimulate dialogue and introspection. At the event, Ayoub Jamali, Director General of PNCA, emphasized the essence of trust as the bedrock of peace, stressing that transparency and shared experiences form its foundation.
