If it isnโt safe, it isnโt food.
We often talk about food security in terms of quantity, but we must also talk about quality.
What is food safety? It is a critical pillar of strong, resilient, and equitable food systems.
It isn't just about hygiene; food safety protects public health and supports nutrition and sustainable development. In fact, food that is unsafe to eat is a waste of the water, energy, and raw materials used to produce it.
At GAIN, we believe that food safety must be built into every programme, it is foundational to our work of today and tomorrow.
