Young Leaders Unite for Climate Action at the PCF Climate Youth Summit 2025 in Islamabad.

Islamabad, April 30, 2025 — The Progressive Climate Foundation (PCF) in collaboration with Environmental Science Department and Green youth movement IIUI Islamabad successfully organised the “PCF Climate Youth Summit 2025” at Allama Iqbal Hall, Faisal Mosque, IIUI, Islamabad. The summit served as a powerful platform to mobilize and empower the youth in the fight against climate change while amplifying their voices in national policy discussions.

Dr. Sarah Amir, Focal Person GYM Club IIUI was in the expert panel discussion on implementing effective climate policies, her expertise and knowledge shows how the climate policies should be adopted by everyone to achieve sustainability.

Senator Dr. Sherry Rehman, Chair of the Senate Standing Committee on Climate Change, graced the summit as the chief guest. In her keynote address, she drew attention to Pakistan’s urgent climate challenges such as rising temperatures, water scarcity, poor sanitation, and the spread of diseases like polio. She emphasized the critical need to integrate climate education into the national curriculum and praised PCF’s contributions through community projects, plastic-free campaigns, and youth mobilization regarding policymakers.

IIUI students win poster competition at the National Youth Contest on Water Challenges of Pakistan PCRWR.

On November 7, 2024, the Pakistan Council of Research in Water Resources (PCRWR) hosted the prize distribution ceremony for the National Youth Contest at Kehkashan Hall 1, Serena Hotel, Islamabad. The contest, organized in collaboration with partners including UNICEF, UNESCO, IWMI Pakistan, Islamic Relief, WaterAid, Muslim Hands, and Riphah University, took place on October 29, 2024. This event encouraged young people across the country to engage with water-related challenges through creative posters, impactful debates, and interactive water-themed board games provided by UNESCO.

Students of the Department of Environmental Science of International Islamic University Islamabad also participated in the poster competition. Four official entries were made, and two of them were the winners of the poster competition. Ms. Muneeba Urooj got 2nd position and Ms. Hajra Noor Khalid got 3rd position . Dr. Sarah Amir, focal person of GYM Club IIUI assisted the winners in the ceremony. The poster competition displayed the creativity of 62 students from 15 universities, with participants presenting innovative ideas on water-related themes. Their posters reflected both creativity and a deep understanding of environmental challenges.

IIUI's Green Youth Movement Gym Club Executive Body attended the Exhibition and launch of PMYB initiatives of the Prime Minister Youth Programme.

On 01 August, 2024. Thursday, the Prime Minister Youth Programme organized the exhibition and launch of PYMB initiatives at the Prime Minister Office Auditorium under the supervision of Chairman PMYP Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan. Chief Guest of The event is Rt Hon Patricia SCOTLAND KC ( Commonwealth Secretary General ).
