📢 Important Participation Guidelines –
Uraan AI Techathon 1.0 Participants in the Uraan AI Techathon 1.0 have the flexibility to: Work on Official Problem Statements: Each of the 12 thematic areas includes carefully designed problem statements that reflect Pakistan’s real challenges. Teams may select one and develop their solution accordingly. OR Bring Their Own Projects/Startups: Teams already working on ongoing AI projects or startups may also participate, provided that:

🔹 Phase-2 (Physical Techathon Day – Islamabad) The project fits into one of the 12 thematic areas, and It addresses a Pakistan-specific challenge with measurable national relevance. All submissions — whether based on official problem statements or self-proposed projects — will be evaluated using the same criteria to ensure fairness, transparency, and equal opportunity. Shortlisted participants from Phase-1 will be invited to Islamabad for the one-day Techathon event. Participants are also allowed to bring their own laptops for use during Phase-2, if they prefer.

GOVERNMENT OF GILGIT-BALTISTAN

LAUNCHING OF DIRECTORATE OF TOURIST SERVICES (DTS) ONLINE PORTAL

On Aug 08, 2025, The Chief Secretary's Office, Gilgit-Baltistan, hosted the final demonstration and launching ceremony of the Directorate of Tourist Services (DTS) online portal today. Secretary Tourism, Mr. Zameer Abbas, apprised the Chief Secretary of the fully developed DTS system, designed to facilitate the issuance of licenses to tour operators, hotels, and international expeditions for high-altitude climbing and related services.

The DTS online portal is a significant step towards promoting transparency, efficiency, and accountability in the tourism sector. The teams from Information Technology Department GB, and PMRU GB , were present and pledged their technical support to ensure the system's scalability and sustainability.

In the forthcoming phase, the IT Department GB will develop a mobile application to further enhance tourist-related services for the public, thereby improving overall service delivery and citizen engagement.
