Dangerous Skardu Road
The thrill of cruising down the scenic Skardu road vanished in an instant as we rounded a bend to find a colossal jam. A mangled truck lay half-submerged in a muddy ditch, its wheels spinning uselessly. The air buzzed with frustrated honking and shouts. Patience became our only weapon. We inched forward, witnessing the scene unfold. A crew of determined men wrestled with shovels, desperately trying to free the behemoth. But the treacherous mud held it fast. Finally, a savior arrived: a massive bulldozer, its rumbling engine a beacon of hope. With practiced ease, the operator attached a cable and, with a mighty groan, lurched the truck forward, inch by painstaking inch. Slowly, mud gave way to solid ground, and cheers erupted from the gathered crowd. Relief washed over us as we continued our journey, the scene a stark reminder of the challenges and camaraderie that define travel on the Dangerous Skardu road.
