On February 20, the college department classes of Mam Apello and Mam Ramos successfully organized a mini exhibit collaboration between Science, Technology, and Society (STS) and Filipino 2 entitled “Wonders of the Word.” The exhibit aimed to connect science, history, culture, and language through creative presentations and informative displays. Grade 1 and Grade 4 students were invited to join and explore the exhibit, creating a meaningful learning experience that bridged different academic levels.
The exhibit featured several engaging sections, including 18th and 20th century inventions, First Filipino inventions, Wonders of the World, and meaningful photography. Students showcased significant innovations that transformed society, while also highlighting Filipino contributions such as the works of Eduardo San Juan, Roberto del Rosario, and Edgardo Vazquez. The Wonders of the World section emphasized global architectural achievements, while the meaningful photography display presented powerful images accompanied by thoughtful interpretations in Filipino.
Overall, “Wonders of the Word” demonstrated how education becomes more impactful when disciplines collaborate. By combining science and language, the exhibit encouraged critical thinking, creativity, and cultural appreciation among participants and visitors alike. The event not only showcased students’ hard work and research but also inspired younger learners to appreciate innovation, heritage, and the power of words in shaping society.
