𝐒𝐢𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐨 implies that being an educator goes beyond teaching lessons, it is about shaping a safe and inclusive space where every student feels seen, heard, and valued. As a former Gender Equality Pillar Head, he continues to stand firm in his mission: to promote kindness, respect, and understanding in a world that often forgets the importance of these simple yet powerful values.
Like many, Sir Paulo faced moments of doubt. But instead of letting them define him, he turned those experiences into strength. Surrounded by people who uplifted and supported him, he learned to embrace who he is, becoming more confident and more passionate about advocating for acceptance and inclusivity.
He believes that equality is not just about fairness, but about how we treat one another in our everyday lives. “𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭—𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐮𝐬.” Through his words and actions, he reminds his students that small acts of kindness can create a big impact, and that inclusivity starts within ourselves.
In a generation that continues to grow and learn about gender sensitivity, 𝐒𝐢𝐫 𝐏𝐚𝐮𝐥𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐧𝐨𝐭 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐨𝐜𝐚𝐜𝐲. Because at the end of the day, 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭, 𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐮𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞.

𝐑𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧 𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞. 𝐃𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐛𝐲 𝐩𝐮𝐫𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐞.
𝐅𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐢𝐫 𝐉𝐚𝐲𝐬, his guiding principle in life is simple yet powerful: 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐥𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐝. Every decision he makes, every lesson he teaches, and every life he touches is grounded in the values his mother and father instilled in him. Kung sino man siya ngayon, dala niya ang paniniwala na may mga magulang na patuloy niyang binibigyang dangal.
Growing up with both a mother and a father shaped his deep understanding of gender respect and equality. For him, belief and trust should never be based on whether someone is babae, lalaki, bakla, o tomboy. That’s why he lives by the words he shares with his students: “𝐒𝐢𝐫 𝐉𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞.” A belief that is 𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬. A belief that does not depend on status, age, or identity, but on 𝐡𝐮𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲.
His experiences of doubt and being underestimated became 𝐟𝐮𝐞𝐥 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐰𝐭𝐡. Instead of being defined by stereotypes, he chose to break them. Hindi siya nagpapatuloy para may patunayan sa iba, nagpapatuloy siya dahil 𝐧𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐰𝐚𝐥𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐲𝐚 𝐬𝐚 𝐬𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐥𝐢 𝐧𝐢𝐲𝐚. And now, he teaches his students to do the same: kahit talikuran ka ng lahat, basta’t naniniwala ka sa sarili mo, 𝐦𝐚𝐠𝐩𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐨𝐲 𝐤𝐚.
In a world still learning about gender sensitivity, 𝐒𝐢𝐫 𝐉𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐫𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐦𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧. 2026 na, it’s time to move beyond labels and see each other simply as human.
Because at the end of the day, 𝐥𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐲𝐨 𝐭𝐚𝐨.
