Cavite Photowalk pt. 3

Kubli Coffee House. "Kubli" o tago. Literal na tago dahil wala ito sa pangunahing kalsada ng Imus. Galing sa plaza o sa simbahan, maglalakad ka nang kaunti, mga tatlo o limang kanto. Hindi ko masasabing kakaiba ang konsepto ng kapehang ito ngunit, masasabi kong magaan sa pakiramdam ang tumambay rito. Gabi na nang makarating kami rito at medyo hindi na tumatanggap ng dine in order ang may-ari. buti nalang at nakaabot kami. Kakaiba ang lasa ng Tablea Mocha na binili ng kasama ko at ang akin naman ay nagustuhan ko. Maganda ang lugar, nagustuhan din ng aking mga mata ang mga intensyonal na disenyo nito gaya ng mga ilaw at mga dekorasyong nakalagay sa sahig.

Cavite Photowalk pt. 1

While walking along the street of Imus, Cavite (from Lumina to Plaza), we came across these skaters. Always an unpleasant greeting with the skaters to be honest. Ang first interaction ay palaging bigla silang nagpapalipad ng skate sa harapan mismo ng naglalakad. Pero naisip kong maganda silang subject so nilabas ko ang camera. They kept on playing. Skaters weren't as convenient as a walker, let's be honest. But streets are for everyone who wants to be there. Ewan ko, naiisip ba nila na inconvenient din tayo?

Anyway, I'm just glad to see them live and play outside their devices. They could've been just using their phones, yk.

I was wondering kung nasa focus ba ang kuha ko. Sa dami ng kuha ko, ilan lang ang nagustuhan ko. Thankful sa kasama ko sapagkat matiyaga niya akong nahintay. After nito, binigay ng isa 'yong facebook niya. Kinda inspired me with street photography, especially having human as the subject.

SUPER LATE UPLOAD

Had the opportunity to join the heritage walk tour organized by Tayabas City Tourism. With the goal of just trying out my new DSLR, I didn’t expect to learn so much more about the culture and history of these places. I mean, I’ve lived here for 22 years — I thought I already knew enough. But I’m glad the staff shared stories and details that aren’t even online (though I hope they’ll be someday).

One of the most memorable takeaways was realizing how Tayabense culture is deeply welcoming. The Basilica alone reflects influences from Spain, America, China (those lions!), and Muslim architecture through its arches. Yet, beneath all that, these structures were built by Filipino hands — through hardship and survival. They’ve withstood calamities, carried stories, and witnessed generations of love and loss.
