3 NABBED, ₱5.5-M WORTH OF FUEL PRODUCTS SEIZED IN BATANGAS ILLEGAL “PAIHI” OPS

Three individuals were arrested while more than ₱5.5 million worth of petroleum products and equipment were confiscated in an anti-illegal fuel operation conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) in Bauan, Batangas.

The operation, led by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), resulted in the arrest of aliases “Mar,” “Win,” and “Boy,” all male and of legal age, who were allegedly engaged in the unauthorized transfer and storage of petroleum products.

Authorities recovered a tanker truck loaded with approximately 20,000 liters of petroleum products, several fuel containers containing diesel and gasoline, and other equipment believed to have been used in the illegal activity. The total value of the seized evidence was estimated at ₱5,534,000.00.

Chief PNP, Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., commended the operating units for the successful operation and underscored the importance of protecting the public from illegal fuel trading activities.

Cases for violation of existing laws regulating the sale, transport, and distribution of petroleum products are now being prepared against the arrested suspects.

The PNP assured the public that sustained operations against illegal fuel activities will continue nationwide as part of its commitment to public safety, consumer protection, and economic security.
