BREAKING (updated 12:27 p.m.): Assistant Provincial Health officer Dr. Liland Estacion announced in a press briefing) conference this morning that Negros Oriental has two new cases of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). There are now five active cases in the province.
Both are locally stranded individuals recorded in Mabinay and Manjuyod. The Manjuyod native is a 27-year-old male from Barangay Panciao, who was repatriated from Minglanilla town in COVID-19 hotspot Cebu Province.
The Mabinay native, meanwhile, is a 20-year-old male from Barangay Poblacion, repatriated from Caloocan City, Metro Manila. He arrived in the province via a sweeper flight on June 16.
Both are now under quarantine in the government facilities in their respective towns and are not showing symptoms of the disease.
Estacion added that contact tracing is underway but noted that only that the tracing would yield only a few individuals, since the two cases had been already quarantined since their arrival to the province. | via Raffy Cabristante, 106.3 Yes The Best News Edito
