The Davao Regional Medical Center (DRMC) Hospital Emergency Response Team (HERT), in partnership with the Davao Center for Health Development (CHD) and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Davao del Norte, successfully conducted its final pre-deployment briefing for OPLAN BALUT, the emergency response mission for the earthquake-affected communities of Balut Island.The briefing served to ensure a safe, organized, and effective humanitarian response.
During the activity, Medical Center Chief II, Dr. Bryan O. Dalid, conveyed his message of support and encouragement to the deployed personnel. He commended the responders for their dedication and commitment to public service and emphasized the importance of teamwork, resilience, and compassion as they carry out their mission.
The DRMC contingent, led by Dr. Rodel M. Flores and composed of members of PEMAT Southern Mindanao (DRMC Contingent), now stands ready for deployment to provide essential medical and surgical healthcare services to the residents of Balut Island.
As the mission begins, DRMC reaffirms its commitment to delivering timely, coordinated, and life-saving healthcare interventions to communities affected by disasters and emergencies.

The Department of Health – Davao Regional Medical Center, through the Health Emergency and Disaster Management Unit (HEDMU), successfully conducted its 2nd Postgraduate Course entitled “SICU LEAKS: Hacks for the Surgical ICU” last May 19, 2026, at Molave Hotel, Tagum City.
The activity gathered healthcare professionals and participants from the Davao Region and CARAGA Region, the catchment areas of DRMC, who were eager to enhance their knowledge and skills in surgical intensive care management. Esteemed lecturers from the Philippine Society for Surgery of Trauma and Critical Care and the Trauma Surgery Faculty shared valuable insights, evidence-based practices, and practical approaches in managing critically ill surgical patients.
This postgraduate course highlights DRMC-HEDMU’s continued commitment to advancing professional development and strengthening critical care competencies among healthcare providers in the region.
