A memorable breakup on Valentine’s Day.
Today, Valentine’s Day, marks the separation of the provinces of Apayao and Kalinga, 31 years ago.
On February 14, 1995, the provinces of Apayao and Kalinga separated as two distinct provinces by virtue of Republic Act No. 7878 authored by the late Elias K. Bulut, Sr.
The separation of the two provinces then prompted the growth and progress of both local government units and it continues to do so after three decades.
The provinces are celebrating their founding anniversary through various events and activities throughout the month of February highlighting their rich and unique culture, heritage and tradition and also boasting their achievements and the continuing development of both province.
Happy 31st Foundation Anniversary to the provinces of Apayao and Kalinga.
