FREE. SAD. HAPPY. CONFUSION. ~~~~~~~~ these are the words resonating with Franco Mamaril beginning our last drawing exercise upon deciding to leave Occidental Mindoro before we get stranded in the island because of the incoming typhoons, ending our time in a creative retreat.

Indeed, this residecy program proposed overbearing challenges in approaching Franco's artistic practice, as well as structuring Cultivating a Garden and SUBD.'s creative directions; and to a greater extent, making conscious decisions in order to continue living.

Our 17 days in Mamburao has been productive to say the least. Experiencing the setting alongside creatives led us to territories of inquiries which we are eager to explore further in our next visits!
