NOTICE: BIR RELEASES GUIDELINES TO HELP TAXPAYERS AMID THE PANDEMIC

To alleviate the hardships being encountered in beating the April 15, 2021 deadline for the filing of Annual Income Tax Returns (AITR) for taxable year ending December 30, 2020 and payment of taxes due thereon, the Bureau of Internal Revenue Philippines (BIR) discussed the following guidelines through Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 46-2021:

* A tentative Annual Income Tax Return (AITR) may be filed on or before the set deadline. The return may be amended on or before May 15, 2021 without penalties or charges.
* All tax returns, attachments, and documents can be electronically signed by the taxpayer or its authorized officer or signatory. (Pursuant to RA No. 8792 or the Electronic Commerce Act of 2000)
* The AITR and its attachments can be electronically filed through the eAFS Facility. (RMC No. 49-2020)
