Here in the Philippines the trashes gets worse as time goes by. According to a study solid wastes produced by Philippine cities are expected to increase by 165 percent to 77,776 tons by 2025. Residential areas produce the most solid waste at 57%, while waste from commercial establishments, institutional sources, and the industrial or manufacturing sector accounted for 27%, 12%, and 4%, respectively, of the total waste, generated.
There are many factors why most of the Filipinos litter. Residential areas produce the most solid waste and more than half of them threw their garbage everywhere this means that they do not dispose of their trash properly and segregate it, resulting in pollution that can affect our health if our government did not take action for this issue. Owners of idle lots in Metro Manila shall keep them clean to protect them from becoming mosquitoes, flies, mice, rats and other scavengers breeding grounds. There are already different sanctions for the people who litter in some barangays and private villages or subdivisions around the Philippines that sanctions aim is to lessen and to get rid of those who don't follow the anti-littering law. My stand is to change our mindset from the people who are living in the poverty zone that they are the only one who is polluting our country we should not forget the factories that also contribute so much pollution that destroys the world. Education is very important to us all especially the Good Manners and Right Conduct (GMRC) it makes us a good person and always obey the law. Our government should offer help to the need since they are the one who needs proper education and so that we could lessen the amount of trash that will be in our landfills, streets, rivers, etc. because they are disciplined enough and civilized well.

In Appalachia, coal companies blow the tops off of mountains to get at the coal. The damage this does to the surrounding environment and water supply is devastating. From the ashes captures Americans in communities across the country as they wrestle with the legacy of the coal industry and what its future should be in the current political climate. From Appalachia to the West’s Powder River Basin, the film goes beyond the rhetoric of the “war on coal” to present compelling and often heartbreaking stories about what’s at stake for our economy, health, and climate.
In Kayford Mountain, over 2000 miles of streams have been buried in Appalachia, the mountain contained some of the most diverse streams on the planet and some of the cleanest water. When the rock material is pushed over the edge of the mining mountain by the bulldozers of the mining companies, it ends up dissolving minerals into the streams of water, which contains elements like iron, magnesium, and calcium that organisms and animals can’t tolerate, which can kill the organisms in the stream. The elements and materials mentioned before heavily pollute the streams, and the toxic waste filled water runs out of the base of the valley fill into streams and to the rivers below those streams. The mining companies store their mining waste in the huge earthen dams that hold back billions of gallons of toxic water that leaks into drinking water. One local from Lincoln County, West Virginia (Regina Lilly) who is also affected by the aftermath of the coal mining companies stated that every resident of the affected area has contaminated water sources in one form or another. She also stated that the water in the area is toxic enough to be flammable.
The locals who live near or by the mountains that the mining companies mine on stated that not only are the mountains physically important to people, but they are also spiritually important in terms of sentimental value, and it is also environmentally important to all living things that inhabit the mountain area. The local government in this situation focused less on the aftermath but more on the product or extract that the mining companies are there for, which they thought was more important, when in reality it should be the other way around. The government should pay more attention on the effects of mining on the plant and animal life surrounding mountain areas and how it can also affect the water sources of people who live close by, because if the government is unaware of the damage done by mining companies, the environment or mountains that they mine on will be gone forever.

Analysis on the online research entitled “Commuting on Public Transport: Health Risks and Responses” written by Li Ping Wong, Haridah Alias, Nasrin Aghamohammadi, et. al. on April 10, 2018.
The authors started of entailing how Asia has been undergoing the industrialization and urbanization at a rapid speed. This resulted in accelerated growth of many suburban cities surrounding large metropolitan areas. As a consequence, urban areas are experiencing increasing automobile use, which results in long hours of commuting and traveling. The increasing traffic congestion then contributes to an intense amount of pollutant emissions and degraded air quality.
The authors presented the problematic concept of the dangers of air pollution in commuting. This is a real concern for it exposes commuters to great concentrations of atmospheric pollutants from vehicular traffic and other industrial facto during their transit. Commuters tend to stay on the road waiting for a vehicle or crossing the street to which makes them exposed to such threats. It was reported that commuters who travel by public transport may be exposed to up to eight time as much air pollution as those who drive to work.
The authors then presented different researches revealing how Asia has been categorized as one of the largest pollution sources. Motorized transport in particular is responsible for roughly 70% of environmental pollution. Road vehicle emissions are one of the most important sources of human exposure to air pollution. Air pollution to such roads is relatively high, and commuters face this threat of unavoidable exposure during commuting as they are literally near the sources of emission.
The scientific background to this matter entailed those emissions from road traffic result in a complex mixture of harmful air pollutants. To this, vehicle emissions have become the dominant source of air pollutants such as carbon monoxide, carbon dioxide, hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides. These toxic particles have the ability to easily pe*****te the human airways impacting cardiovascular and respiratory function. As a result, traffic-related air pollution has been implicated in a range of illnesses related to respiratory diseases. To this end, prolonged exposure over many years by commuting places tremendous stress on the body and can be detrimental to human health.
In conclusion, commuters indeed face the real threat of air pollution for they are exposed to such pollutants almost every day of their lives. This is a threat since the more they are exposed to such pollutants, the more it can damage their respiratory system. The increase of vehicular use together with the rise in number of industrialization contributes to greater emission of air pollutants. To this, the Government should mandate policies regulating each infrastructure with their emission of harmful pollutants. They should abide the different environmental laws which protect the citizens from the harm brought by such air pollutants. It may not completely remove such pollutants, but this is better in order for it to be decreased. With urbanization, implementing tree planting programs can be beneficial for trees can absorb great amounts of carbon dioxide which can lessen the threat of air pollution. Each local government unit may push its people to plant a tree even in their metropolitan cities.
