TOPIC: Obeying God Over Men

TEXT: Acts 5:29 Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, we ought to obey God rather than men.

MESSAGE: As Christians, we know that our ultimate allegiance is to God. In Acts 5:29, Peter and the other apostles boldly stated, "We ought to obey God rather than men.

The declaration was a clear indication that their top priority was to follow God's will, even if it meant going against the orders of powerful government officials.

As we navigate through our daily lives, we may face situations where we are forced to choose between obeying man or God. Perhaps it's a workplace situation where we are asked to compromise our values or beliefs to meet a certain quota, or maybe it's a societal norm that goes against what we know to be true in our faith.

Whatever the scenario maybe, it's important to remember that our obedience to God should always come first. It may not be easy, and we may face consequences or backlash, but we can trust that God will honor our obedience and provide a way for us.

Let us take inspiration from the apostles and choose to obey God over man, trusting that His ways are higher than our own.

PRAYER: Dear God, help us to have the courage and conviction to obey you above all else. Give us discernment to know when we are being led astray by the ways of the world, and give us the strength to stand firm in our faith. May our obedience to you bring glory to your name and lead others to know you. In Jesus' name. Amen

Wishing everyone of us together with our family a victorious Sunday and a glorious new week in Jesus' name. Amen

TOPIC: Acknowledging Our Transgressions

TEXT: Ps. 53:3 for I acknowledge my transgressions; and my sin is ever before me.

MESSAGE: As Christians, we often fall into the trap of thinking that we are better than others because we have faith in God.
We may feel that our sins are minor and easily forgiven, while the sins of others are much greater and harder to forgive. But this is a dangerous mindset that can lead us away from God rather than towards him.

The truth is, we are all sinners. None of us is perfect. We all make mistakes and transgress against God's laws. But it is in acknowledging our transgressions and repenting of them that we can come closer to God and experience His boundless mercy and grace.

In Psalm 51, David writes "for I acknowledge my transgressions; and my sin is ever before me." David was a man after God's own heart, yet he still sinned. He committed adultery with Bathsheba and had her husband Uriah killed. But when Nathan the prophet confronted him about his sin, David acknowledged it and repented. He cried out to God, "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me."

Like David, we too must acknowledge our transgressions and seek God's forgiveness. We cannot hide our sins from God nor can we justify them. We must take responsibility for our actions, confess our sins, and turn away from them. Only then can we experience true freedom and joy in our relationship with God.

Let us not be arrogant or self-righteous in our faith. Let us remember that we are all sinners in need of God's grace. May we be humble, repentant, and always seeking God's forgiveness.

PRAYER: Dear Heavenly Father, we acknowledge our transgressions and sins before You. We have fallen short of Your glory and have disobeyed Your commands. We ask for Your forgiveness and mercy. Create in us a clean hearts, O God, and renew a right spirit within us. May we never forget our need for Your grace and may we always seek to live in a way that honors You. In Jesus' name. Amen

Wishing everyone of us together with our family a victorious new Midweek in Jesus' name. Amen
