⚡REFLECTION

👉It is a type of transformation that flips a figure over the x-axis, creating a mirror image directly across the horizontal axis. Each point keeps its x-coordinate but its y-coordinate becomes its opposite value.

🧪RULE:
For any point (x, y), its reflection across the x-axis is (x, -y)

How to do reflection over the x-axis?

1. Identify the coordinates of every vertex of the shape.
2. Keep the x-value the same.
3. Change the positive/negative sign of the y-value.
4. Plot the new points and connect them to form the reflected figure.

Example:
Original points:
M (-2, 4)
A (0, 1)
T (3, 3)

Find their reflections across the x-axis:

1. Apply the rule (x, y) → (x, -y)
2. M' = (-2, -4)
3. A' = (0, -1)
4. T' = (3, -3)
