VICENTA S. DAVID NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL CONDUCTS NUTRITIONAL STATUS VALIDATION
AND SBFP BENEFICIARY ASSESSMENT
On July 2, 2026, Mrs. Juliet M. Bulahan, School Head, together with Mr. John Michael R. Calderon, School Health Coordinator, conducted the identification and monitoring of the nutritional status of learners in support of the Philippine Plan of Action for Nutrition (PPAN) and the school's commitment to promoting food and nutrition security. The activity focused on assessing and validating the nutritional profiles of learners to accurately identify those who require appropriate nutritional interventions.
As part of the activity, the school validated the official list of beneficiaries for the School-Based Feeding Program (SBFP) for School Year 2026–2027. Learner records and nutritional assessment results were carefully reviewed to ensure that nutritionally at-risk learners are properly identified and prioritized for supplementary feeding in accordance with the Department of Education's guidelines.
Following the validation, an initial planning session for the implementation of the School-Based Feeding Program was conducted to ensure its effective and timely delivery. Through this initiative, Vicenta S. David National High School reaffirmed its commitment to improving learners' nutritional well-being, supporting healthy growth and development, and advancing the goals of PPAN through sustainable school-based nutrition programs.

POSTING ADVOCACY MATERIALS FOR NATIONAL DRUG EDUCATION PROGRAM
On June 9, 2026, Mr. Mark Kevin Villamarzo assumed the role of National Drug Education Program (NDEP) Coordinator at Vicenta S. David National High School. Committed to creating a healthier and safer learning environment, he immediately began implementing initiatives aligned with the goals of the NDEP.
One of his first initiatives was the installation of advocacy signages throughout the school campus. These included messages promoting anti-smoking, anti-drug, anti-alcohol, and "No Weapons" policies. The signages were strategically installed at the school's opening block, entrances, corridors, and other common areas to serve as constant reminders of the school's commitment to preventing the use of harmful substances, maintaining peace and order, and promoting positive behavior.
This initiative aims to raise students' awareness, promote discipline, and strengthen the school's culture of health and safety. Through clear and visible advocacy signages, the coordinator hopes to influence students' choices and encourage them to make responsible decisions both inside and outside the school.
The school continues to support the National Drug Education Program through sustained advocacy, education, and preventive campaigns, fostering a safe, drug-free, and learner-friendly environment for all.

COMMON ADOLESCENT PROBLEMS AFFECTING MENTAL HEALTH AWARENESS SESSION
On June 17, 2026, Mr. Mark Kevin Villmarzo conducted an informative discussion on the common challenges experienced during adolescence that can affect the mental health and overall well-being of learners. The session aimed to increase students' awareness of the emotional, psychological, and social changes that commonly occur during adolescence while helping them recognize the importance of maintaining good mental health during this critical stage of development.
During the discussion, Mr. Villmarzo explained that adolescence is a period of rapid physical, emotional, cognitive, and social growth, which may expose young people to various mental health challenges. Topics covered included stress related to academic demands, peer pressure, family conflicts, low self-esteem, body image concerns, social media influence, bullying and cyberbullying, anxiety, loneliness, depression, and difficulties in managing emotions. Learners were encouraged to understand that experiencing these challenges is not uncommon and that recognizing their feelings is the first step toward seeking appropriate support.
The session also emphasized the importance of developing healthy coping mechanisms, such as practicing self-care, maintaining open communication with trusted adults, building positive friendships, managing stress effectively, and engaging in healthy lifestyle habits, including regular physical activity, sufficient sleep, and balanced nutrition. Mr. Villmarzo encouraged learners to seek guidance from parents, teachers, guidance counselors, school health personnel, or mental health professionals whenever they experience emotional distress or overwhelming challenges.
