August: A Courageous Hope
The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid. What can mere mortals do to me? (Psalm 118:6, NIV)
Fears may assail us, but we face them head on. Because we know that on our side is the God who parted the sea (Exodus 14), sent fire down from heaven (1 Kings 18), silenced the hungry lions (Daniel 6), and toppled a giant (1 Samuel 17). This, and more, He has done and is able to do, so we say with the psalmist, “The Lord is with me; I will not be afraid.”
