Last Sunday, the 74th Annual Obon Festival, or Gathering of Joy, returned to Monterey County after a four-year Covid-related hiatus. This traditional Buddhist celebration of life is held during the summer to honor one’s ancestors and express gratitude through Japanese food, traditional tea ceremonies, a bonsai exhibit, and a strolling shopping market. Markon is proud to have contributed fresh fruits and vegetables to this annual event for the delicious dishes offered.
