🚨 BREAKING NEWS: New SC Decision on LGBTQIA+ Property Rights

The Supreme Court has issued a ruling in Josef v. Ursua (G.R. 267469, Feb. 5, 2026), addressing the property relations of cohabiting same-sex couples.

Rainbow Rights Philippines acknowledges the decision, which applies Article 148 of the Family Code to LGBTQIA+ unions. While the ruling is a nod toward inclusivity, we highlight a major concern: Article 148 is reserved for "void" unions and requires strict proof of "actual contribution" to claim shared property.

We welcome the progress but we raise the question of the inferior protection provided by the classification. We continue our call on the government to uphold equality and recognize that our love is valid.
