PCA Metropolitan Chapter owes its proud existence to a group of dedicated and hardworking professionals and entrepreneurs who realized that the best way to promote their welfare and advance the industry’s interests is to band themselves into a group. PCA Pasig-San Juan-Mandaluyong Chapter was formalized during July 1983 with the election of its first board with Cesar Casten as its President and Os
car del Rosario as its Vice President. Twenty six companies became Charter Members. The chapter and its members were formally inducted as PCA members on 20 August 1983 by the Philippine Constructors Association. During the ensuing years the Chapter grew and its name transformed, with the consent of the national body of PCA, to PCA Mandaluyong-Pasig San-Juan Chapter or PCA MPSJ Chapter for short. In 2008 the Chapter celebrated its 25th Anniversary with a gala event at Valle Verde Country Club in Pasig. The realization dawned that the membership of the Chapter have become diversified and are no longer exclusively from the municipalities of Mandaluyong, Pasig and San Juan. It was further realized that the greatest portion of Metro Manila was unrepresented by PCA chapters – the original chapters having been abandoned. In consequence of this the Chapter decided to take action to remedy the situation in order to serve the industry better. At a milestone Special General Meeting held at Max’s Restaurant in Tiendesitas on 16 March 2009 the members unanimously voted to change the name of the Chapter to PCA Metropolitan Chapter and amend its Constitution to extend its area of jurisdiction to the entire National Capital Region except areas where PCA Chapters actively exist, increase its member base to include PCAB license categories Trade to B and give effect to its name change. The approval of the PCA national body was sought for these changes and it was duly approved subject to the condition that the Chapter incorporates itself. During a Special General Meeting held on 22 September 2009 members unanimously approved the Articles of Incorporation and By-Laws of the Chapter and during October 2009 the Chapter was duly incorporated as PCA Metropolitan Chapter, Inc. The Chapter is now fully equipped to serve contractors previously unrepresented.
