Yesterday, we did more than hold an Education Summitโwe strengthened a shared commitment to the future of every Pototanon learner.
We are deeply grateful to our Provincial, Municipal and Barangay Officials, our partners from DepEd, mentors from Synergeia Foundation, Inc., School Heads, Teachers, PTA Officers, parents, and community stakeholders who joined us in meaningful conversations and workshops on the state of education in our municipality. Your presence and participation remind us that education is not the responsibility of schools aloneโit is a responsibility we all share.
It was an honor to present the milestones of ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ท๐ฒ๐ฐ๐ ๐ฃ๐จ๐ก๐๐ (๐ฃ๐ผ๐๐ผ๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ผ๐ป๐ ๐ถ๐ป ๐จ๐ป๐ถ๐๐ผ๐ป ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ ๐ก๐๐บ๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ ๐๐๐๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐บ๐ฒ๐ป๐) and to introduce our proposed ๐ฃ๐จ๐ก๐๐ ๐ข๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ. I am truly humbled by the overwhelming support and encouraging feedback it received. More importantly, the valuable insights and recommendations shared during the summit will help us further refine the ordinance so that it reflects the real needs, aspirations, and experiences of our communities.
This is the kind of legislation we have always hoped to championโnot one written behind closed doors, but one shaped by the voices of the very people it seeks to serve.
As Chairperson of the Committee on Education, I believe that our greatest investment will always be our children. If we want a stronger Pototan tomorrow, we must work together to strengthen education today.
We humbly invite everyone to continue supporting Project PUNLA and our education initiatives. Together, let us create opportunities for every child to learn, every teacher to thrive, and every family to become an active partner in building a culture where literacy, learning, and hope flourish.
Because when a community chooses to invest in education, it is choosing to invest in its own.
My warmest congratulations and gratitude to everyone who made this meaningful event possible.

Education is a shared responsibility. It takes a village to educate a child, and every sector has a role in ensuring that no learner is left behind.
The Municipality of Pototan successfully convened the Education Summit 2026 on July 14, 2026, bringing together school leaders, teachers, barangay officials, parents, government, community partners, and other stakeholders to review the current state of education in the municipality.
The summit served as a platform to present and examine key education data, including learners' performance, literacy, enrollment, attendance, and other indicators that guide planning and decision-making. More than presenting numbers, the discussions focused on understanding the realities behind the data, identifying existing gaps, and strengthening collective actions to improve learning outcomes.
Every data point represents a child. Every challenge calls for collaboration. Every solution begins when schools, families, local government, and the community work together with a common purpose.
As we move forward, let this summit remind us that meaningful progress in education is not achieved by one institution alone. It is built through shared commitment, accountability, and sustained partnership.
Because when a community invests in its children, it invests in its future.

Today marks another historic milestone for education in the Municipality of Pototan.
I am honored and grateful to share that our ๐๐ง๐ค๐๐๐๐ฉ ๐๐๐๐๐ผ (๐๐ค๐ฉ๐ค๐ฉ๐๐ฃ๐ค๐ฃ๐จ ๐๐ฃ ๐๐ฃ๐๐จ๐ค๐ฃ ๐๐ค๐ง ๐๐ช๐ข๐๐ง๐๐๐ฎ ๐๐ฃ๐ ๐๐๐ฉ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฎ ๐ผ๐ฉ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฃ๐ข๐๐ฃ๐ฉ) ๐๐ง๐๐๐ฃ๐๐ฃ๐๐ has successfully ๐ฝ๐ฎ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐ถ๐๐ ๐๐ถ๐ฟ๐๐ ๐ฅ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด before the Sangguniang Bayan.
Project PUNLA has already demonstrated what can be achieved when a community comes together for a common purpose. It became one of the driving forces behind Pototanโs recognition with the ๐ฆ๐ฒ๐ฎ๐น ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ผ๐ผ๐ฑ ๐๐ฑ๐๐ฐ๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ป๐ฎ๐ป๐ฐ๐ฒ from the Synergeia Foundationโa testament that when local government, schools, families, and the community work as one, meaningful change becomes possible.
With the passage of this ordinance on First Reading, we take another significant step toward institutionalizing Project PUNLA so that our commitment to literacy and numeracy will continue to flourish for generations to come. This is more than the passage of a proposed local law; it is our declaration that
A victory for literacy and numeracy is a victory for our entire municipality. Every child who learns to read with confidence, every learner who develops stronger mathematical skills, and every student who discovers their full potential brings our town one step closer to a brighter future. By investing in our children today, we are investing in the future leaders, professionals, workers, entrepreneurs, and public servants who will shape the Pototan of tomorrow.
This milestone belongs to everyone.
To our dedicated teachers who tirelessly nurture young minds; to our school heads and education personnel; to our Local School Board; to our barangay officials; to our parents; to our community partners and stakeholders; to our fellow public servants; and to everyone who has supported Project PUNLA from the very beginningโ๐ฉ๐๐๐ฃ๐ ๐ฎ๐ค๐ช. Your commitment and collaboration have made this achievement possible.
As Chairperson of the Committee on Education, we remain committed to pursuing innovative, responsive, and sustainable policies that will continue to improve the educational landscape of Pototan. This milestone inspires us to work even harder because every child deserves the opportunity to learn, to dream, and to succeed.
The work does not end here. This is only the beginning.
Together, let us continue planting the seeds of knowledge, nurturing every learner, and ensuring that ๐ป๐ผ ๐ฐ๐ต๐ถ๐น๐ฑ ๐ถ๐ ๐น๐ฒ๐ณ๐ ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ต๐ถ๐ป๐ฑ.

This July, we proudly join the nation in observing significant advocacies that promote safety, health, humanitarian service, and disaster preparedness.
These observances remind us of our shared responsibility in creating safe learning environments, practicing healthy lifestyles, supporting lifesaving blood donation efforts, and strengthening disaster preparedness within our communities.
