LINGAP ESKWELA | Manila Water Foundation and Manila Water Makati-Mandaluyong San Juan Service Area handed over twenty-four Refrigerated Drinking Fountains (RDFs) to public schools through Project Drink Mandaluyong and also inaugurated the Water Asset Installation and Rehabilitation (WAIR) project in Hulo Integrated School.​

The RDFs will provide clean, refreshing drinking water to 57,000 learners and teachers in the 24 schools in Mandaluyong City served by Manila Water.​

Meanwhile, WAIR improves the water supply and water pressure at the school to meet the daily water demand, supporting the health and well-being of the learners. A 2,000-liter capacity water tank along with a booster pump was installed. The inauguration marked the completion of the repair and rehabilitation of the center’s water pipes to ensure that the WASH needs of the learning institution are met and diseases are prevented.​

Mandaluyong City Vice Mayor Carmelita "Menchie" Abalos, along with Mandaluyong City councilors and Assistant Schools Division Superintendent Charlie Fababaer, extended their support for the project and participated in the handover event. They expressed their appreciation to Manila Water Company and Manila Water Foundation for their ongoing WASH initiatives, which contribute to the health and welfare of the youth in Mandaluyong City.​

"Malinis at maayos ang tubig ng Manila Water, hindi natin problema 'yan sa ating lugar. Thank you sa dami-dami ng schools, schools po sa Mandaluyong ang napili niyong suportahan. Nasa mahigit 57,000 students po ang makikinabang nito lalo na ngayon na napakainit ng panahon, kailangan po talaga natin ng malamig na tubig. Maraming salamat po sa mga biyayang binibigay ninyo at ng inyong mga partners," Vice Mayor Abalos said.​

The handover and inauguration event were capped with the distribution of drinking kits containing drinking water tumblers, Cleene Clio toothbrushes from PHILUSA Corporation, toothpastes from Hapee, and info-education materials on proper toothbrushing and proper hand washing. ​

Lingap Eskwela hydration program aligns with the DepEd’s WASH in Schools program by providing refreshing and clean drinking water to stay healthy and hydrated on very warm school days.​
