I share common traps leaders fall into with new tech adoption - a “me too” mindset to “check-the-box” that we are riding the AI wave. But if all you’re doing is what all your competitors can easily do, there’s no strategic advantage. I call this the “Paper to PDF” or “Google to ChatGPT” trap.

Instead, AI presents incredible opportunities to fundamentally change our business models. Instead of using AI to generate a credit risk report faster, reimagine how credit risk is evaluated - from a single static risk to a dynamic real-time risk assessment and the “moment of truth” for the right actions.

It starts with: are you looking at AI to lead or just to follow?

I’ve often shared how I started .life with one intern. Well, here she is! She responded to my 2017 LinkedIn post about a crazy idea I wanted to start to build, and out of the 200+ who responded, she was the only one who offered research articles and ideas instead of just giving me a CV or indicating interest.

She spent that summer during her undergraduate programme, helping me to set up interviews with different stakeholders and design the first crude prototypes and experiments.

She’s now back in KL to visit us - after just completing her !! 🔥🎉🌟
