LOOK | Conduct of Basic Life Support (BLS) Training
The Coast Guard Nursing Service Sub-Unit BARMM successfully conducted a Basic Life Support (BLS) Training at Headquarters, Polloc Freeport Ecozone, Parang, Maguindanao, participated in by personnel from various OPCON units.
The activity aimed to equip Coast Guard personnel with essential life-saving skills in responding to medical emergencies such as cardiac arrest, choking, and respiratory distress. The training included lectures and demonstrations on proper cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), airway management, and the use of automated external defibrillators (AED).
Through this initiative, participants were able to enhance their knowledge, build confidence, and develop competence in delivering immediate and effective first response care prior to the arrival of advanced medical support.
The Nursing Service Sub-Unit BARMM remains committed to strengthening the operational readiness and medical responsiveness of all personnel by continuously conducting capacity-building activities that promote safety, preparedness, and preservation of life.

LOOK | Official Turnover of Medicines and Medical Supplies
The Coast Guard Nursing Service Sub-Unit BARMM successfully received two (2) boxes of assorted medicines and medical supplies from the Integrated Provincial Health Office (IPHO) Maguindanao during a simple turnover ceremony held at Headquarter Coast Guard District BARMM Polloc Freeport Ecozone, Parang, Maguindanao.
The donation was spearheaded by CDR BERNARD R SERO PCGA, District Auxiliary Supervisor (DAS), as part of the continued commitment to strengthen health service capabilities and medical readiness in support of Coast Guard personnel and the community.
The donated items were formally received by CAPT DANISH M RUIZ PCG, Deputy Commander of Coast Guard District BARMM. The activity was conducted under the leadership and guidance of Commodore REJARD V MARFE PCG, District Commander of Coast Guard District BARMM.
This meaningful initiative highlights the strong collaboration among the Integrated Provincial Health Office of Maguindanao, the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary, and the Philippine Coast Guard District BARMM in promoting accessible healthcare support and enhancing the medical response capability of the unit. The donated medicines and supplies will significantly contribute to the delivery of essential medical services to Coast Guard personnel and the communities they serve.

LOOK | Medical Standby for Water Safety Activity
The Coast Guard Nursing Service Sub-Unit BARMM, in coordination with the Medical Clinic BARMM, successfully provided medical standby support during the Water Safety Activity conducted by the SOU BARMM for the personnel of UNICEF Cotabato City.
The activity aimed to enhance water safety awareness, preparedness, and operational readiness among participants. Throughout the conduct of the activity, the nursing and medical teams remained on full alert to ensure the health, safety, and immediate medical needs of all personnel involved, particularly during water-based drills and physical activities.
This initiative highlights the continuing commitment of the Coast Guard Nursing Service Sub-Unit BARMM to provide timely and professional medical support during inter-agency activities, reinforcing collaboration with partner organizations and promoting a culture of safety and preparedness within the BARMM area of responsibility.

LOOK | Strengthening Coordination and Operational Readiness
A productive discussion was held between ENS ALFAHDZLY J ABIDIN, PCG, Chief Nurse of the Nursing Service Sub-Unit BARMM, and LTJG VASIT VENTORILLIO, PCG, Station Commander of Coast Guard Station Central Tawi-Tawi (CGS CTT) at the Office of the Chief Nurse, Headquarters Coast Guard District BARMM, Polloc Freeport Ecozone, Parang, Maguindanao.
The discussion focused on strengthening coordination and the participation of the Nursing Service in support of Coast Guard operations across the inter-island and maritime geography of BARMM, emphasizing preparedness and responsiveness in relation to the regionβs unique operational and logistical challenges.
