PROJECT OPLAN TABANG: CARMEN, DAVAO DEL NORTE
In the past few weeks, severe flooding had caused havoc and severe damage to Davao Del Norte which caused the families to be devastated and miserable due to natureโs rage. With a collective spirit of empathy and solidarity, the Panabo City Senior High School organizations (SSLG, GAD, PEER, VRP, S.P.E.A.R, YES-O, along with several teachers) joined forces to organize a donation drive to support and help the victims who endured the flood specifically in Prk.5, Guadalupe, Carmen, Davao Del Norte, led by the GAD coordinator, Sir Arvin Gara
Days before the donation event, donations flooded in from all directions, including cash gifts intended to support long-term rebuilding efforts and necessities like food, clothing, and hygiene goods. Everyone's kindness and compassion demonstrated how resilient the human spirit can be when faced with hardship and struggles.
On the day of the said donation drive, the donated goods were arranged and distributed by volunteers who put in a lot of effort to ensure the people who needed them most could receive them. A glimmer of optimism appeared in their eyes as they accepted the donations, serving as a powerful reminder of the enormous influence that even the tiniest acts of compassion can have.
When the donation drive came to an end, the impact of the school communityโs effort paid off as families went back inside their homes with a glint of happiness and a smile of hope.

Panabo City Senior High School Bounces Back with
Online GAD Webinar Series
Despite a recent earthquake and class suspension, Panabo City Senior High School refused to let learning stop! They launched the "PCSHS GAD WEBINAR SERIES," an online symposium tackling crucial Gender and Development (GAD) topics. Mental health, adolescent reproductive health, post-graduation options, and the Safe Space Act were all on the agenda, empowering students with the knowledge and skills to navigate these complex and sensitive issues.
Maam Jobellyn May A. Bontifola, the SHS coordinator, led the charge on mental health. She acknowledged the challenges teens face and offered coping mechanisms. Maam Tabaniera-Moratin tackled teen reproductive health head-on, clearing up confusion and promoting responsible choices. Maam Samon helped students map their futures after graduation, exploring different career paths. And Engr. Gara explained the Safe Space Act, which protects everyone from bullying and violence, especially based on gender.
The earthquake forced them to get creative, but the blended learning approach ensured no one was left behind. Presentations and interactive workshops were held online, while pre-recorded sessions were available for students with limited internet access. This ensured maximum participation, proving that education can adapt and overcome any obstacle.
The symposium buzzed with energy! Students asked insightful questions, shared their own experiences, and emerged feeling empowered. They gained knowledge of mental health, reproductive health, future opportunities, and their rights under the Safe Space Act. This initiative by Panabo City Senior High School shows their unwavering commitment to their students' well-being and holistic development. Even earthquakes can't extinguish the flame of learning and progress!
