The IMEC Engineering Bridging Program is a two-year fast-track scholarship designed for Mechanical Engineering graduates who are determined to earn their Marine Engineerโs license and build a career on international vessels. ๐

Program Structure:
๐น Stage 1: 10โ11 months marine-based training at the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP), providing foundational knowledge and practical skills in Marine Engineering
๐น Stage 2: Minimum 12 months onboard ship training, gaining real-world maritime experience ๐ข
๐น Stage 3: Acquisition of a Marine Engineering License, qualifying graduates to operate and service international vessels
Through hands-on training at MAAP, along with full support from IMEC and its member companies, you will build the skills, confidence, and real-world experience needed to succeed in the maritime industry.

๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฑ๐ด๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฎ๐บ ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฐ๐ต ๐ญ๐ฑ completed the course ๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ฐ ๐ง๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ถ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด from January 19 to January 31, 2026; conducted by the AMOSUP Seamenโs Training Center (ASTC).
The IMEC-sponsored students underwent training in Personal Survival Techniques (PST), Fire Prevention and Firefighting (FPFF), Elementary First Aid (EFA), and Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities (PSSR) within the academy grounds.
The Basic Training (BT) program provides essential skills and knowledge needed by aspiring seafarers to ensure safety and preparedness while working onboard ships.

VADM Eduardo Ma. R. Santos, President of the Maritime Academy of Asia and the Pacific (MAAP), warmly welcomed the 15th Batch of the Bridging Program on January 14, 2026.
This batch is composed of 33 Mechanical Engineersโ28 males and 5 femalesโall sponsored by IMEC. The event marked the start of a challenging and rewarding journey for the 15th Batch in preparation for their maritime careers.
