LDR works... but can love survive without hearing each other's voice?

10 MONTHS ONBOARD - NO CALL/VC

Hi, good day! I’m using my real account, so please hide my name. I just want to ask for advice about what could be the possible reasons why a seaman can’t do video calls or even regular calls with their partner?

For context, we’ve been together for 3 years and I’m still his girlfriend. He already told me that he’s not used to calling, and recently he said that load runs out easily, which is why he can’t call. I know he’s a good man and very family-oriented, but sometimes I feel like I’m not that important in his life. I respect his priorities and decisions, but there are things I also need that he can’t meet.
Hindi naman ako materialistic, pero aminado ako na minsan naiinggit din ako. Since he went onboard, we don’t really celebrate special occasions kahit anniversary namin or Valentine’s Day, walang kahit maliit na gesture like flowers. Naiintindihan ko naman, pero syempre, nakakalungkot din minsan.
Ako kasi as a partner, I make efforts kahit sa maliit na bagay. Para sa akin, kung mahalaga yung tao, gagawa at gagawa ka ng paraan to show effort. Pag nakababa naman siya, okay kami kasi we go out, we date, and do normal couple things.

Ang problema lang talaga is when he’s onboard. Alam mo naman ang LDR diba? malayo na nga kayo, tapos wala pang proper communication like calls or video calls. We do message each other, pero kahit once a month na call, wala talaga. Nakakalungkot lang talaga.

LDR works for me, but if there’s no call or video call at all, I feel like the relationship won’t work. Any advice po?
