❌ Common English Mistake Alert! ❌
Do you say: ‘I’ve been a teacher since 5 years.’? ❌
Let’s fix that! ☑️
✅ The correct sentence is: ‘I’ve been a teacher for 5 years.’
🔍 Why?
We use ‘for’ with a length of time (5 years, 2 weeks, a long time).
We use ‘since’ with a starting point in time (2019, Monday, last summer).
📌 So:
- ‘for’ 5 years ✅
- ‘since’ 5 years ❌ (because 5 years is a duration, not a starting point)
💬 Try making your own sentences using ‘for’ or ‘since’ in the comments below! 👇
