Still feels surreal to see my work exhibited at the 🌿✨

It was pure fulfillment and joy to stand beside heritage and biodiversity advocates, and to witness fellow artists buzzing and bouncing around with excitement during the opening of ANI: Our Assets, Natural Heritage, and Cultural Identity.

I was even interviewed for the news — nerve-wracking, but a privilege to speak about our native flora. (And a note of humility: I mistakenly described the plant I painted as endemic, when in fact it is native. A gentle reminder that both artists and scientists keep learning along the way.)

Grateful to the and the National Museum of the Philippines for making this milestone possible. Here’s to celebrating Philippine biodiversity and carrying the responsibility of protecting it with pride. 💚

By now, you should already learn the survival skill of altering your memories. Some will weigh down on you, or crush you if you let them, so it’s essential to learn how to chip away and add to your past realities. That way, you’ll only carry what’s light — and warm and lovely things are usually the light ones.
